I'm out here everyday breakin' hearts along the way,
I cause tears to fall and some to lose it all
This whole world would be
Better off without me
Well, I'm the saddest words you've spoken
I'm a promise broken.
I cause tears to fall and some to lose it all
This whole world would be
Better off without me
Well, I'm the saddest words you've spoken
I'm a promise broken.
I'm the ballgame that you missed
I'm the calls that don't come in,
I'm every poor excuse you use to cover up the the truth
I tell the people that you love
That they don't matter quite enough
There's no stoppin' me once i'm in motion
I'm a promise broken.
I'm the calls that don't come in,
I'm every poor excuse you use to cover up the the truth
I tell the people that you love
That they don't matter quite enough
There's no stoppin' me once i'm in motion
I'm a promise broken.
||. Her muddy pools scanned each area of the new land, her maw made no sound. Her head followed every Swift movement of her trot. Her ebony veil danced wildly upon her nape, and her banner floated behind her. Black muzzle was soon changed into a white blaze, which was surrounded bu a tan yellow. Her legs slowly turned black, and soon into a white. Her ebony daggers were quiet and emitted not a sound, but the beat of her motions. Her nares widened to catch many scents of equine, stallions and mares. Where was she? .||
||. The broken promise swiftly made its way to the falls...the amazed her, some-what. Her back legs dropped to stop, and she swung her hind to the side and turned her chest...now facing the falls. Her muddy pools sparkled with question...but she knew the waters wouldn't tell her the answers. She looked into the falling waters to see her reflection...and it angered her. She felt as if she was broken, she was a beautiful mare...but she thought this wasn't true. She half rear and threw her daggers forth into the water...and she disappeared. The mare spun around, not to face the waters and continued through the lands the encase the falls. Her muddy pools looked down to her daggers to see lush green grasses, and she stopped to graze. The sweet sound of her cropping grass was all she heard. The grass tasted good to her, for she hadn't grazed in a while. She knew it was unhealthy of her, and her barrel was lean...but she just hadn't been hungry the last two days. Had she been sick? What ever it was, it had passed... .||
||. When she had her fill of grass, she turn 'round to head back to the water. There she drank, the cool waters were refreshing as they trickled down her throat. As she lifted her head, water fell like rain from her muzzle. She rubbed her crane on her front left foreleg, then nipped at her barrel. Her muddy pools looked to the sky, then she continued onward... .||
||. Her banner danced upon her barrel to rid of the blood suckers that bit at her sides. She lay one hoof hard on the ground to rid of the ones on her belly. Her black tassels drifted to cover her muddy pools, and she smelt the ground. She cropped grass once more...at peace at last. .||

Disappointment, disillusion
Despair, confusion
I've seen it all in their eyes
Don't promise you will if you won't
Don't say you do if you don't
It's alright to say you'll try.
Despair, confusion
I've seen it all in their eyes
Don't promise you will if you won't
Don't say you do if you don't
It's alright to say you'll try.
Well, I get pushed aside when you move on with your life,
But I'll stand the test of time in you heart and in your mind
You'll think about me now and then
Wonder how your life might've been
But I will leave you never knowin'
Well, I'm a promise broken
I'm a promise broken...
But I'll stand the test of time in you heart and in your mind
You'll think about me now and then
Wonder how your life might've been
But I will leave you never knowin'
Well, I'm a promise broken
I'm a promise broken...
